This one-hour course serves as an overview of the fundamental knowledge of code organization and definitions necessary toadminister and enforce the FBC Building Code, Seventh Edition.  Plans examiners, inspectors design professionals and contractors, completing this course will understand the organization of the FBC Building Code and the definitions addressed in the FBC Building Code.

At the completion of this course, the student will be better able to:

  • Define important terms associated with the FBC Building Code (2020)
  • Effectively locate important concepts associated with the FBC Building Code (2020)



This one-hour course discusses the scope and administrative requirements governing the use of the Florida Building Code, 6thEdition (2017), Chapter One. 



This course includes concrete, aluminum, steel, wood, glass and plastics for the Building Inspector.

This two-hour course serves as an overview of the fundamental knowledge of specific International Property Maintenance Code.  Plans examiners, inspectors design professionals and contractors, completing this course will overview the organization of the International Property Maintenance Code and the basic provisions addressed in the Code.


This course will familiarize the participant with the significant changes in commercial and residential provisions between the 7th Edition and the 8th Edition Florida Building Code.  As the building codes evolve, building officials, inspectors and plans examiners must keep up with changes between volumes of the codes.  This course will help the participant to identify the changes that will impact his/her job performance.


COURSE DESCRIPTION:  This course will familiarize the participant with the significant changes in commercial and residential provisions between the 7th Edition and the 8th Edition Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation volumes.
