This one-hour course serves as an overview of the fundamental knowledge of specific electrical code organization and definitions necessary to administer and enforce the electrical code. Plans examiners, inspectors design professionals and contractors, completing this course will understand the organization of the National Electrical Code and the definitions addressed in the National Electrical Code.
At the completion of this course, the student will be better able to:

- Effectively locate important concepts associated with the National Electrical Code
This course provides a basic foundation of knowledge for utility-interactive photovoltaic systems including descriptions, general code requirements and key inspection points.
This course will help the participant improve
verbal and written communication skills when interacting with customers, peers,
supervisors and the public. This course is required for Electrical Cross Training
Programs.

between standard and metric measurements ·

Introduction to Article 90
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will help the participant better understand the requirements, provisions and recommendations found in the National Electrical Code, Article 90. This course is required for Electrical Cross Training Programs.

COURSE GOAL: This course will introduce the student to the National Electrical Code, Part 90, the basis for electrical installations in the United States.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: After completion, the student will be better able to:
- Describe the history and
development of the National Electrical Code.
- Describe the organization of the
National Electrical Code.
- Identify what is covered and what
is not covered in the National Electrical Code.
STUDENT PREREQUISITES: None
Electrical hazards generated by installation errors, danger of contact with electrical energy, conditions affecting severity of injury, electrical urns, thermal contact burns, safety protocol and standards. This course comments on the philosophy of safety, avoiding electrical injury during inspections, specific electrical job site hazards, and the use of established procedures and standards to mitigate dangerous conditions.
Specific electrical requirements during improvement to existing buildings. This course addresses repairs, alternations, and additions, and will define the scope of electrical work required within such work areas.
